Every single day there are safety alerts issued from any number of government agencies from the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) to the European Medicines Agency and many others. The mission of FDA.net is to deliver alerts to you, keeping you informed about the safety of the products you and your family use every day. Our aim is to source alerts from all types of government agencies, both in the US and around the world, in an effort to maintain the most up-to-date, informative, and universal safety alert system for drugs, cars, consumer products, food – pretty much any product that you may use or consume.
How We Do It
FDA.net is an easy to search website that allows you to subscribe to just those products or categories of product types that you choose, so that when an alert is issued for a product to which you subscribe, you receive an email letting you know. The goal is to provide a service that will help keep your family safe.
Who We Are
FDA.net was founded by a group of web developers who are in the business of facilitating knowledge. We are mothers and fathers, aunts and uncles, and for some of us, it is our turn to take care of our parents. When we discovered just how many safety alerts go unheeded simply because people are unaware of them, we sought to develop a tool that would help to keep us all better informed.
Why We Care
Every day important safety alerts come and go with very little, if any, media attention paid to them. Unless consumers have filled out the registration postcards for every thing they have ever purchased or scour government agency websites on a regular basis, they will never find out about many of the safety alerts that may have an impact on their lives. We realized how cumbersome it can be to use the many major government websites like FDA.gov and CPSC.gov and set out to develop a solution that aggregates the information that these various agencies monitor in ONE place and deliver the information you identify as pertinent to your life, directly to your inbox.
Our hope is that FDA.net makes your family safer by keeping you in-the-know about the safety of the products you actually use.
